"What fascinates me most right now isn’t collapse. It’s what gets built afterward. Who adapts. Who thrives. Who stands fully in their own aliveness and creativity."
Hi Beautiful Soul,
You can smell change in the air before you can explain it, can't you?
Breezes shift. The ground feels softer underfoot. Things that once looked polished start to show their seams.
You know we’re in one of those seasons.
Systems wobble. Reputations thin out. Long-protected stories lose their glaze. It’s less spectacle and more exposure — like turning a rock over and seeing what's been dwelling on the underside.
Today Saturn and Neptune meet at 0° Aries
We begin a new cycle, both personally (what were you doing in the spring of 1989?) and collectively. Astrologers call zero degrees Aries the Aries Point, where personal life and collective life intersect. Where something private steps into public light.
Today's the perfect day for me to share that I’m writing a historical romance set in 1763, during a massive empire shift on so many levels.
We have Spanish jasmine thick in the dusk air, cicadas warming up for the night, uniforms stiff with authority, and beneath all of it, the quiet, strategic intelligence of people who understand that flags change faster than nature does.
It's full of longing, heat, and loyalties that don't sit politely inside geo-political boundaries. Life set loose to thrive, to bloom, to express itself in surprisingly new, delightful ways amid colonial chaos.
Menedez knows.
And yes, there is an enormous, double-tusked feral hog named Menendez who has absolutely no respect for manicured colonial courtyards and just might uproot one with obscene enthusiasm, as is his right as part of the land.
Empires rise. Empires fall.
Nature continues.
What fascinates me most right now isn’t collapse. It’s what gets built afterward. Who adapts. Who thrives. Who stands fully in their own aliveness and creativity."
When structures fall away, you can’t hide inside them anymore.
You get to live in a more full-hearted, alive way once you locate what wants to come through you.
If you’ve followed my astrology work, you know I’ve spent years studying these hinge moments. Last year I created a deeply researched (and frankly beautiful) presentation on the Aries Point — the architecture behind cultural turning points like this one. If you want to go deeper into the pattern, it’s available.
And my book, The 2020 Guide to Astrology of Happiness, explores integrity and alignment during turbulent cycles. It’s currently free on Kindle Unlimited.
But right now, I’m less interested in commentary and more interested in creation.
I'm having so much fun building something vivid enough, human enough, alive enough that you can feel the humidity of it on your skin.
If you want to conspire with me while I do that — to think about the world we’re building after the upheaval, with a little history, a little heat, and the occasional feral interruption — please join in me in exploring this wild period of history (including pirates,) porcine hijinks, romantic heat, and maybe some strategies for thriving in the midst of Empire shifts.
The air has changed.
I’m choosing to create with it.
Warmly,
Lori
